On September 2nd, for the third year in a row, Catherine Labonté was the guest artist at the Corning Museum of Glass Ampetheather’s in Corning, New York, USA.

In front of a packed house, she made a blown glass hippopotamus donated to Tanner’s P.A.W.S., dedicated to the protection of animals. She was assisted by Patrick Primeau of the Welmo workshop in Sainte-Julie. This performance of the artist can be viewed online on Youtube. https://youtu.be/kZmKme-YbZs

During the morning and afternoon, the artist signed certificates of adoption for fans of his glass animals, available in large numbers at the museum shop.

The Corning Museum of Glass houses the world’s largest collection of glass pieces.
